Infographic poster created for a specialist in Chronic Pelvic Pain treatment to explain the physical and psychological processes behind the illness, and designed as part of my thesis on dispelling stigma through graphic design. The process starts with an acute pain trigger (center). As the circles grow larger, the pain experienced by the patient is deeper, more intense, and distributed more widely in the body. The varying thicknesses of the rings represent varying average pain levels as do the colored arrows and colors of the rings. There are icons for each treatment modality on the edge of the infographic representing the path to pain relief.
